Sophie
ter Schure PREVIOUS GARDEN SESSIONS
NUMBER 1
"Beautiful,
calming and effortless vocals interwoven with delicate guitar."
GARDEN SESSIONS |
|
Sophie has been singing all her life, though only
picked up the guitar 2 years ago. It was whilst visiting Scotland
that she developed a love of traditional Scottish music - and her
reportoire in the genre is vast, which may come as something of
a surprise when you discover that she was born and bred in the Netherlands...

Cruel
Sister (3.4 Mb / 3:45)
A dark, surreal
folkie tale of two sisters - one of whom drowns the otherin
a jealous rage. This particular rendition omits the next part
of the story however - where two minstrels discover her drowned
body, make it into a harp - then play it for the girl's family
(where the harp speaks, and turns in the cruel sister).

Peggy Gordon
(2.5 Mb / 2:46)
A beautiful rendition
of a traditional classic. Peggy Gordon tells of the heartache
and pain of unrequited love. |
