| The
BBC Radio 2 Cambridge Folk Festival is sold out. No tickets
will be available for purchase at the gate over the Festival
weekend. Cambridge Folk Festival advises people not travel
to the Festival if they don't have a ticket.
Cambridge Folk Festival
is one of the premier music events in Europe and one of
the longest running and most famous folk festivals in the
world. It is renowned for its high standards, intimate atmosphere
and wide definition of what might be considered folk. Hugely
popular, the Festival has sold out in advance for over a
decade. This year's line up is truly a who's who of folk
music, including: Joan Baez, Nanci Griffith, Steve Earle,
Kate Rusby, Show Of Hands, Oysterband (pictured), Martin
Simpson, Solas, Shooglenifty, Brian McNeill and Kris Drever
to name but just a few!
The festival addressed many
customers frustration in trying to obtain tickets (often
to no avail) saying: "The event is now more popular
than ever and demand for tickets hugely outstrips the number
available. It is therefore unfortunate that a large number
of people were either left disappointed or experienced difficulties
when booking due to the surge in demand when booking opened,
we would like to apologise to any customers in this situation."
