Born in Ayrshire, on the south-west coast of Scotland,
he's been singing and playing his guitar since his early teens.
After leaving school, he became an engineering apprentice which
funded his first two loves, mountains & music. Most weekends
he would head north with a rucksack on his back and guitar in hand;
climbing by day and playing music in the pub at night. As a lover
of both traditional and contemporary folk music, major influences
include: Eric Bogle, Christy Moore, Dougie McLean, Dick Gaughan,
Nathalie Merchant, Bob Dylan and Billy Connolly.
