A great wee gig to look forward to this coming weekend....

6 Sep Madsen & Graubaek - Folk from Denmark- piano, fiddle and yarns

Energetic polkas and atmospheric ballads hand-picked from Cape Breton, Shetland, Ireland, Sweden and even little Amager.  These are the toe-tapping pickings you can expect from Madsen & Graubæk. The duo delivers rustic and lively folk music, including everything from good ol' polka just like mamma played it and lyrical sounds from Sweden's forests to warm-hearted waltzes from the south. With a shared passion for traditional melodies, they offer a new take on their ancestors' music: contemporary interpretations interspersed with original tunes written with respect for the folk tradition.

@ 8.30pm Royal Oak, Infirmary Street, Edinburgh - Tickets on sale at the Royal Oak - (0131) 557 2976
