Enabling the hidden panel ...

In order to publish the hidden panel on your site all you need to do is publish any module to the 'cpanel' position. In the template admin you can also change the time that the panel takes to open.

I love the website & have subscribed to the podcast on itunes but wondered if the various shows such as "a wee bit on the side" are also going to be available as podcasts in future?

yes, all the shows will be available to subscribe through itunes within the next few days.  we held off initially as we hadn't quite perfected the system - but work is underway on all of that now.
