Hands Up for Trad have announced the names those who will be entered into their 2009 ‘Hall of Fame’.  Amongst this year's inductees are the likes of Dick Gaughan, Phil Cunningham and Sheena Wellington.  Stonyport's Dr John Barrow will be recognised under the Hamish Henderson Services to Traditional Music award.

The award has seen criticism though from some quarters of the folk scene, not least for the fact that Rock band Runrig were amongst the inductees in 2008 - but also for the fact that the nomination process appears somewhat less than transparent.
