The 26th September to the 4th October offers a host of folkie events in the Angus and Dundee area, including Genealogy Workshops, Expert guided tours, Archive visits, "Bothy Nicht Concert", Traditional music sessions and a Family history fair.

As well as providing opportunities to find out more about those who have lived in the Angus and Dundee area over the centuries, the Roots Festival also celebrates the culture of the area with a variety of toe-tapping musical events.  Roots traditional music sessions are taking place for free in Kirriemuir and Arbroath, in  addition to a Bothy Ballad concert featuring some favourite performers, including the Garden Session's very own Scott Gardiner and Chris Wright.
