Doghouse
Roses
"a formidable
debut record, a captivating folk filled dream." IS THIS MUSIC |
|
Doghouse Roses - are Paul (guitars/vocals) and Iona
(vocals/guitar). Conceived toward the closing stages of the year
2005, the two combined to make the kind of music they like to listen
to, to tap their feet to, to drink wine late into the night to and
to dream to... The kind of music that entwines itself around the
roots of folk, country and blues.
Before finding himself in the Doghouse (Roses), Paul Tasker was
formerly a Danny Kyle award winner at Celtic Connections festival,
finalist in several national song-writing competitions, and among
hundreds of gigs in the UK and Europe has supported artists as diverse
as Kathryn Williams, Flook!, Rodrigo & Gabriella, Francis Black
and Seth Lakeman.
Iona Macdonald has sung with the Willard Grant Conspiracy and Larry
Guild among others, and has a whisky-soaked but still pure voice
reminiscent of a young Sandy Denny or sober Janis Joplin.

Whistle
Song (3.6 Mb / 3:08)
A driving and amazingly performed
song, the relevence to 'whistles' though, is unclear. |
|

|
Nottamun
Town (5.1 Mb /
4:26)
A traditional song, which
must be one of the rarest examples of medieval psychadelic
folk music. |
